About Moraine Trails Council

The Moraine Trails Council – Boy Scouts of America – supports Scouting programs in Western Pennsylvania in Armstrong, Butler, Lawrence and northern Westmoreland Counties.  Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law

Internet Recharter 2.0 opened November 1, 2021. If your unit’s leadership has thoroughly reviewed your 2021 roster and is sure of all the updates to be made, click here to watch a video on how to begin the process and to see the resources/links available to you for a successful recharter experience. All 2022 Charter renewals and payment-in full must be turned in at the Council offices no later than December 17, 2021. If you have watched the instructional videos, read the documents, tried the “sandbox” recharter program, and still run into problems or have questions regarding the unit charter renewal process, please contact the Council Registrar, Mary Skero at 724-287-6791.

Popcorn makes for a great gameday snack during football season, is a delightful gift for friends and coworkers, and is wonderful to have around for cold, wintery movie nights. Over 70% of the proceeds go back into local Scouting with 35% on average going straight to your unit!

The Council will not be taking unit returns on popcorn. Units are encouraged to continue to do store front and wagon sales to sell the last of their remaining popcorn.

You can do this with flyers, peer-to-peer cards, sign up nights and other social events.
